The Mesdames Pompes Series

I absolutely love shoes! Italian, French, leather, black shoes in particular. As inspiration for drawing, it was the collectible Victorian Fenton glass shoe that began my glass and ceramic shoe collection. The Mesdames Pompes Series is the happy result. Deciding to frame these charcoal pencil drawings in something other than my traditional black museum framing, I went with bright red aluminum, and they looked marvelous hanging in the Sparkling Things exhibition during the holidays. Having recently completed the 6th charcoal pencil drawing of The Tulipa Series, you'll observe evidence of the Tulipa in the Mesdames Pompes drawings as well.
